چکیده

This paper aims to emphasize the importance of applying international consensus guidelines detect qualitative and quantitative abnormalities megakaryocytes on smears bone marrow aspirates (BMA) for a shared harmonized diagnostic path between different laboratories. Careful evaluation BMA represents cornerstone in diagnosis most clonal nonclonal hematological diseases. Images associated with detailed morphologic description normal, reactive, abnormal, dysplastic are also reported together examples similar cells that, if not promptly identified, can lead morphological misdiagnosis.

The Role of Bone Marrow Aspiration and Bone Marrow Biopsy in Diagnosis of Bone Marrow Metastases

Background: Bone marrow is the site of many malignant disorders and it is one of the common places for solid tumors to metastasize. Examination of the bone marrow aspirate and biopsy is a routine procedure performed for assessment of various conditions such as cytopenias, hematologic neoplasms, nonmalignant disorders and metastatic neoplasms. Methods: The patients were referred to the Hema...

Bone marrow megakaryocytes in human ontogenesis.

The aim of the study was a histomorphometric evaluation of bone marrow megakaryocytes (MK). The study was based on bone marrow histological evaluation. Morphometric evaluation was carried out with the aid of the MicroImage Olympus computer image analysis software. We evaluated the amount of megakaryocytes (MK) per 1 mm2, MK area, the nuclear-cytoplasmatic (N/C) ratio and circular deviation (CD)...

Dysplastic Platelets and Circulating Megakaryocytes in Chronic

Small circulating megakaryocytes were nuclear. The circulating megakaryocytes identified in four patients with chronic were associated with the presence of myeloproliferative disorders, and their dysplastic platelets. Both findings are morphologic features by light and electron thought to represent involvement of the microscopy are described. The morphomegakaryocytic-platelet line, probably as ...

Cytokine production by primary bone marrow megakaryocytes.

Primary human bone marrow megakaryocytes were studied for their ability to express and release cytokines potentially relevant to their proliferation and/or differentiation. The purity of the bone marrow megakaryocytes was assessed by morphologic and immunocytochemical criteria. Unstimulated marrow megakaryocytes constitutively expressed genes for interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta), IL-6, granulocyt...

OP9 Bone Marrow Stroma Cells Differentiate into Megakaryocytes and Platelets

Platelets are essential for hemostatic plug formation and thrombosis. The mechanisms of megakaryocyte (MK) differentiation and subsequent platelet production from stem cells remain only partially understood. The manufacture of megakaryocytes (MKs) and platelets from cell sources including hematopoietic stem cells and pluripotent stem cells have been highlighted for studying the platelet product...
